Other than cheap flowers at the corner bodega and free wings on your birthday at the Dive Bar, there aren't many bargains to be found in New York. For years we endured ever-rising movie prices, with no matinee pricing to be found (much to the disbelief of many midwestern visitors). So, imagine the delight when we realized that a major NY movie chain (AMC) began offering, with very little publicity or fanfare, the $6 movie. Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Any time before noon. Six dollars.
The Saturday Morning Movie Group was born.
